Agency Brief — Issue #1

The weekly brief on AI tools for small agencies · Week of October 16, 2026

Four moves this week: one to check your invoice for, one to keep, one to test on a real client job, and one to watch because it goes after small-client retainers. Then the numbers on AI-visibility tracking for a 10-client book.

1.Jasper: REVIEW your seats

What changed: Jasper's Creator plan is gone. The removal was spotted on September 27, 2026. The cheapest plan is now Pro at $59/seat/month billed yearly, or $69/month billed monthly (Jasper pricing). On Business, Jasper now uses hybrid credits for API/MCP, Grid, GEO and agents, and admins can set per-user credit limits. The help doc for this was updated October 2, 2026.

Why it matters: If anyone on your team was on Creator, your cost per seat has gone up. On Business, how much you pay depends on how much people use, not only on how many seats you have.

Do this week: Check every Jasper seat. Drop any that are rarely used. If you're on Business, set per-user credit limits before agent and API use starts eating into your margin.

2.Surfer: KEEP (if you sell SEO/content)

What changed: Surfer's MCP is out of beta for Pro plans and up as of October 9, 2026. AI Search Recommendations now turn into action plans, and Agent Analytics is in closed beta (Surfer October roundup).

Why it matters: For content shops, the new features take Surfer from "here's what to fix" to "here's the task list," which is closer to work you can bill for. MCP access means Surfer data can go straight into the AI tools you already use.

Do this week: If you're on Pro or higher, connect the MCP to one client workflow. Agent Analytics is still in beta, so don't sell it to clients yet.

3.Figma Design Agent: TRY (on creative delivery)

What changed: Figma's AI design agent is now generally available as of October 6, 2026. It had been in beta since May (The Verge).

Why it matters: Now that it's out of beta, it's a fair candidate for real client work. It's not just a demo anymore.

Do this week: Use it on one small, low-risk deliverable. Time it against your usual process, then decide whether it changes how you scope or price that work.

4.Holo: WATCH

What changed: Vilnius-based Holo raised a €5M seed round, announced October 15, 2026. It sells AI marketing autopilot to small businesses. Holo claims it reached $5M ARR in 252 days and has 20,000+ paying businesses in 100+ countries (Tech.eu). These are the company's figures; we haven't verified them.

Why it matters: Holo sells to the same small clients that pay for small agency retainers. If a business owner thinks an autopilot is "good enough," your smallest retainers are the first ones at risk.

Do this week: Look at what your small-client retainers actually include. Make the work an autopilot can't do the focus of how you sell them: strategy, judgment about the brand, accountability, and a person who knows the business. Then decide which routine tasks you could automate yourself before a client asks why they're paying for them.

Pricing Watch: AI-visibility tracking for a 10-client agency

At the end of September, High Street compared the prices of 15 AI-visibility tools for agencies (Sep 28–29, 2026). Its figures were Geoptie Professional at $99 (about $9.90/client across 10 clients) and Otterly Standard at $189 (High Street).

We checked both vendors' pricing pages on October 16, 2026:

Tool / plan Monthly-billed Annual-billed Notes
Geoptie Professional $1,188/yr list (= $99/mo), shown struck through $83/mo ($990/yr) 100 monitoring prompts, 10 brands (Geoptie)
Otterly Standard $189/mo $160/mo 100 search prompts; API, MCP, Agent Analytics included (Otterly)

What it means for you:

Skip / Parked

  • Meta Muse connectors and OpenAI Sponsored Agents: parked. So far we've only seen summaries on X. We'll cover them once primary sources are out.
  • The reported Predis price rise: skipped. The report doesn't match Predis's live pricing page.
  • The debate over ChatGPT Ads as a channel: parked. The only source so far is an aggregator.
